If you hadn’t guessed from my previous posts, I absolutely love Halloween, and try to theme my whole October around it! Me and my friend Lizzie always have blogging days – just one super productive day per month where we can focus and bounce ideas off one another. However this time, we decided to extend it into a Halloween sleepover! We stayed up late, watching Halloween themed movies and enjoyed loads of Halloween snacks!
How to have a Homely Halloween
You don’t always have to go out to enjoy Halloween; it can be just as nice to stay in with a spooky movie and treat yourself to some Halloween themed pamper products. I realised when raiding my wardrobe that most of the normal stuff I wear all year round tends to fit for Halloween, but I tend to stock up anyway during this time of year!
I decided not to go for the normal “Lush haul” (even though their stuff does look amazing!) Instead I bought these super cute little vampire and green monster bath bombs from a local bath-bomb shop at FarGo Village. They smelled amazing and were really effervescent – definitely a great purchase. I’ve pictured them below – aren’t they CUTE?
Trick or Treat Yo’Self!
From buying local, to buying from Japan! I bought a Halloween box from a well-known subscription service. I won’t link to their website as I didn’t get everything I should have in the box and I don’t think it’s right to promote when I didn’t receive 100% service! (You might be able to guess where the products are from anyway from the pictures or if you follow me on Instagram!)
This was a Halloween Special box and so there were a few “creepy” themed items. The first was a lipstick by Witch’s Pouch – a popular Japanese make-up brand and I was lucky enough to get the purple colour! I love the shade and it’s definitely something I will continue to wear through the year!
I particularly loved this Mimikyu and Pokemon body art! Now I have real tattoos I don’t tend to use temporary tattoos so much but, these were so cute I just had to try one out! You can always get a level of detail you can’t achieve with a real tattoo… Plus this way they’re not forever.
I (trick or) treated myself to a “Bite Me” nightie, and wore that to the sleepover since it was so on theme (with my life and with the occasion). I love that we use Halloween as an excuse to get together. It doesn’t happen enough when you’re an adult – life gets in the way! We filled our skull mugs (which to be honest, is just something we use all year round) with some Halloween marshmallows and hot chocolate, and gathered round the pumpkins to watch Hocus Pocus (OF COURSE).

I really enjoyed reading this! I love that your “low key” posts are just as interesting as your big ones 🙂
Also, the pumpkin in the first picture… brilliant.
I bet whoever made it is an experienced pumpkin carver who is always upbeat and smiley while carving.

I don’t usually celebrate Halloween to be honest but the one thing I do make sure I do is watch Hocus Pocus!!! Brilliant film!

What a fun evening. I don’t really do anything for Halloween, the kids used to dress up and go out, but this year we’ll be taking our kitten to the vets to have him prepared for his operation….(he’s being castrated for Halloween, but don’t tell him, it’s a surprise!)

Is it bad I’m thinking about this Halloween ready? ? Your post caught up eye because of the skull mug! I love it, and especially that you used it for hot chocolate. On past Halloweens I’ve had a good mix of parties and more chilled evenings / sleepovers (usually if it’s on a school night ?).
