Anyone else think it’s been WAY too long waiting for Game of Thrones? I just can’t contain my excitement. In light of the new series coming out (not soon enough), my head is swarming with Game of Thrones fan theories! Let’s get some buzz going (as if you’re not buzzing already) and recap where we are and figure out where this story will end up in it’s final series! I am going to be SO sad when it’s all over, so I can’t wait to take in every moment.
I wanted to share with you, two amazing books I was gifted. As some of you may know from my previous collaboration infographic, I am a feminist. (Not an activist of any kind, but I do believe in equality between all genders, everywhere. Simple as.) These two books were gifted to me for which I am very thankful. Feminism AND Science? Any books that celebrate the achievements of women are always welcome in my library!
At our monthly Harry Potter Discussion Group, we always come up with loads of brilliant theories and discussions centred around a particular theme in Harry Potter. I wanted to start to use some of this for my blog posts, because it’s always super interesting and I rarely share them!
Muggle Musings started in February of this year, and since then there have been so many brilliant insights and anecdotes I never would have thought of myself. If you hadn’t guessed from my previous posts, I absolutely love Halloween, and try to theme my whole October around it! Me and my friend Lizzie always have blogging days – just one super productive day per month where we can focus and bounce ideas off one another. However this time, we decided to extend it into a Halloween sleepover! We stayed up late, watching Halloween themed movies and enjoyed loads of Halloween snacks!
I’ve always loved Sci-Fi but I never feel like I have seen enough! I wanted to explore as much as possible, from the first Sci-Fi Movie “Le Voyage Dans Le Lune” (1902), right through to the latest releases and sub-genres that have expanded throughout the years. Because, Sci-Fi always makes us question;
Where will science take us? What’s going to happen to us? What’s NEXT?
I’ve already considered what makes a good Sci-Fi story, and so I started doing a little research into the release dates of movies (and some extra reading). I realised that there is a pattern in what’s happening in society and science, and the types of movies that became popular at the time.
You may recall my recent post about the Herbert Art Gallery and it’s amazing hidden Medieval Undercroft, that I had the pleasure of visiting. My friend Dom, who is a historian offered me an exclusive tour and then we spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around the area and ended up in the Holy Trinity Church.
You often do not realise the beauty that lies right before you. My friend from Switzerland for example, hardly ever took pictures of the beautiful mountains and landscapes that surrounded him until I looked at them in awe when I visited.
This weekend, I took the time to look at just how beautiful and historic Coventry was, and saw things I hadnt noticed until I looked at it with such tourist-like focus. I have always been proud of my city; it’s something that’s kinda instilled in us Coventrians but most of my pride lay within it’s latest developments and not it’s history.
